Gids voor Apparaatbeveiliging
A SIM lock (Carrier Network Lock) is a firmware-level restriction implemented in mobile baseband processors that restricts a phone to operating exclusively on a specific wireless carrier's network (such as AT&T, T-Mobile, or Verizon). Devices remain carrier-locked until all contractual tenure, financing obligations, or minimum-usage requirements are fulfilled. Hardware interposer chips (R-SIM) do not unlock devices officially and fail upon iOS updates.
